Course description

The ILM Unit Certificate in Understanding procurement and supplier management in the workplace is ideal for anyone responsible procurement and dealing with suppliers for their organisation. The course topics are:
Examine and explain relevant procurement procedures in own organisation
Describe how procurement requirements can be identified and validated
Give an example of typical purchases in own area of responsibility
Give an example of a supply chain in own organisation
Describe types of specifications used in the organisation
List specialists and suppliers used by own organisation and explain how these specialists and suppliers are selected
Briefly explain how the performance of specialists and suppliers is monitored and how continuous improvement is encouraged
Entry: Entry is open and no prior qualifications are required. Certification: The Unit Certificate is issued by the ILM which is part of City and Guilds.
