Maltings Training Ltd
Maltings Training is an established educational provider specialising in vocational health, safety, fitness, and emergency care instruction. Founded in 1993 by educator Derek Phelan, the institute delivers career-focused training from its primary facility at Maltings House on Coote Street in Portlaoise, County Laois, as well as via designated regional venues nationwide.
As an approved institution under the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC), Maltings Training provides essential emergency qualifications, including First Aid Response (FAR), Cardiac First Response (CFR), and paediatric first aid certifications. Additionally, their fitness and wellness divisions feature programs approved by external accreditation bodies like ITEC, QQI, and the National Council for Exercise and Fitness (NCEF).
To support flexible learning, the center delivers its courses through a blended structural model, combining self-paced online theory components with mandatory face-to-face practical workshops and assessments. This format allows corporate groups and individual students to complete occupational certifications, such as manual handling and patient moving techniques, while maintaining industry regulatory compliance.
