Question
I am currently working in administration in a large company. There is somebody retiring in human resources in the next year and I would like to apply for this vacancy. I can’t take time off work to study HR. Are there any part-time courses I could do?
Answer
"Pitman Training’s Business IT Diploma with HR is designed to give you an overview of the HR function. With computer skills and Microsoft Office software training, it will give you a solid understanding of the personnel department at work. Unlike many HR courses, this one is designed to operate on a self-study platform. That means you always have the flexibility to follow your training at a time that suits you, blending in seamlessly with your work and home life commitments.

CMI run a HR Development Advanced diploma course; designed for newcomers to HR who seek to gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of human resource management, training and development. The structure of the programme ensures that you are able to develop both academic knowledge and practical HR management skills. Their Advanced Diploma in HR Development level 8 course is awarded by the Institute of Commercial Management, and is internationally recognised in over 120 countries worldwide, including Ireland and the UK.
