Master DIALux EVO & Develop Sustainable Lighting Design Skills

This 2-day practical course is ideal for anyone who wants to quickly develop the essential skills required to use DIALux EVO for professional lighting design.

You will learn how to create lighting designs for a wide range of applications, including:

Offices
Industrial buildings
Commercial premises
Car parks
Public roads and outdoor spaces
Emergency lighting applications
You will also learn how modern lighting controls and energy-saving techniques can be incorporated into your designs.

ABSD Awards Level 5 (Ireland) Award

Participants gain the ABSD Awards Level 5 (IRL) Award in Sustainable Commercial Lighting Design

The qualification covers two units:

Unit 331 – Lighting Design Techniques

You will learn how to:

• Use DIALux EVO at introductory-to-intermediate level
• Create lighting designs for internal spaces
• Add room elements, furniture and simple objects
• Import CAD drawings and overlay luminaires
• Design lighting for offices and industrial buildings
• Create designs for car parks and public roadways
• Prepare and export professional lighting reports and images

Unit 332 – Lighting Control, Energy Saving & Emergency Lighting

You will also develop knowledge of:

• Dimming techniques for reducing energy consumption
• Timers and daylight sensing
• Occupancy and traffic-flow sensing
• Lighting control systems, including DALI
• Common lamp types and dimming methods
• Emergency lighting signs and requirements
• Emergency lighting for internal and external escape routes
• Different emergency lighting systems

Live Online Tutor-Led Training

This is a tutor-delivered course.

The training is delivered online in real time by the tutor, allowing you to learn directly with an experienced trainer and work through the course content during the two days.

You do not need any special app or software to join the online class. All you need is a good internet connection, and we will email you a link to join.

Delivery Times

Each day runs from:

9:30 am – 4:00 pm

There is a lunch break from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, plus a short break at 11:00 am.

No Coursework After the Course

One of the major benefits of this programme is that all coursework required for the qualification is completed during the two-day course.

There is therefore no additional coursework or study commitment after the course.

CPD Recognition

This  commercial lighting design training has been running for over 15 years, and is recognised by Engineers Ireland for professional CPD purposes through our partner provider.

Engineers Ireland members also receive the Griffin College 2-Day / 2 CPD Credits Certificate.
