Entry Requirements

  • Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate or equivalent education/experience.
  • Access to a computer/laptop/tablet with internet access and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic computer literacy skills are required.
  • Non-native English speakers require IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent).
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is permitted where modules were completed within the last five years.

Assessments & Work Placement
Assessment is based on continuous assessment, including written assignments and practical assessments.

Learners must complete 160 hours of work placement in an approved healthcare setting such as a nursing home, hospital, or day service centre.

Students may also require:

  • Patient Manual Handling Training
  • Cardiac First Aid / Basic First Aid Training

Garda Vetting is mandatory. International police clearance may also be required where applicable.
