Employment opportunities include working in pharmaceutical research organisations as clinical researchers or as laboratory assistants. They may also work in science-related industries such as clinical trial monitoring or medical research organisations. Students may also progress to participating Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through the QQI Higher Education Links Scheme. Past students have progressed onto DIT/TU Dublin, DCU, UCD, Maynooth, TCD, TU Tallaght, IT Carlow, IT Sligo and UCC. Ten of our 2019 graduates got into General Science in UCD. Five from the same year got into TCD Science etc. From 2018, Killester College Science Students who graduate & meet The Entry Requirements for Sligo IT are guaranteed places on all their Science courses. The new Laboratory apprenticeships are also an option.
