Leads to NFQ Level 5 QQI Award in Multimedia Production
The interactive media and games sector has been identified as a priority area for training as there is currently a skills shortage in this growth industry. This exciting course has been designed to provide the learner with the practical skills needed to commence a career in this dynamic industry.
The course has been developed in conjunction with the Fastrack to Information Technology (FIT) initiative. FIT is an industry-led initiative that responds to the technology needs of industry through providing training, support and career opportunities for unemployed people.
Entry Requirements
This course is aimed at unemployed candidates who are eligible for either the VTOS or BTEA schemes. Interested candidates should apply in the first instance via our website www.stillorgancollege.ie. Since the course is run in conjunction with FIT (Fastrack to Information Technology Ltd) applicants will be contacted by FIT with dates for information sessions that will take place during the summer months.
Progression
Students who successfully complete this course may wish to advance to Level 7 and 8 courses at Institutes of Technology and Universities, including:
BSc in Multimedia (Bachelor Honours Degree) – DCU (DC133)
BSc in Computing in Multimedia Programming – IADT (DL131)
BSc (Honours) in Computing Multimedia Systems/Web Engineering – DIT (DT504)
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Digital Media – IT Tallaght (TA022)
Students also have the option to progress to Level 6 Multimedia courses offered in Stillorgan College of Further Education and other further education colleges throughout Ireland.
