This one-year course will prepare students to work in the hairdressing and haircare industries. This is the ideal starting point for a successful and fulfilling career in the hairdressing industry. Students develop the required skills to work in a professional salon and also perfect the customer communication essential to its success. The course will cover all key areas of hairdressing which will enhance students’ techniques, and their creative and inter-personal skills. This course caters for school leavers and mature students. It is an intense, one-year programme, which requires a high level of commitment, attendance and enthusiasm.

EMPLOYMENT PROGRESSION

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates who qualify in this area can pursue a career in styling, theatrical film work, general hairdressing work, hairdressing retail outlets or it can lead to placement as a senior 1st year apprentice in a hairdressing salon. Further study for junior and senior trade certificates can be undertaken in Dunboyne College. Graduates may further their study at Level 6 in the hair industry in Dunboyne College of Further Education or any Level 7 or Level 8 degrees at Technological Universities around the country.
