Film Level 6

Requirements

Academic Requirements:

• Applicants need a suitable QQI Level 5 award with a merit profile.

• Relevant feeder courses include Cinematography, Media and Broadcasting, Short Film and Factual Video Production, or the Traineeship in Advanced Skills for Visual Effects.

• Candidates with an equivalent QQI Level 5 Certificate may also apply, subject to module compatibility.

Portfolio Requirements:
Applicants must submit an original portfolio of recent visual work. Crucially, the reviewers assess the portfolio based on quality rather than quantity. Make sure to include:

• A mix of film, video, and photography work.

• Clear indications of your specific contribution if you submit a group film or video project.

• A maximum of 20 photographs that clearly demonstrate your skills in lighting, framing, composition, and sequence.

• Storyboards, if available.

• A brief written account explaining your exact role in the creation of the submitted work.
