Course Description
The BA (Hons) Immersive Media Production Tertiary Degree at Ballyfermot College is an innovative four-year programme delivered in partnership with IADT. Specifically, this degree equips students with the advanced creative and technical skills needed to thrive in the fast-paced immersive media sector. Students completely bypass the traditional CAO points system and benefit from zero fees during their first two years. As a result, learners can seamlessly progress from exploring virtual production and extended realities in Ballyfermot to completing their honours degree at IADT.
Certification
Upon successful completion of Year 2, students receive a Higher Certificate in Immersive Media Production at NFQ Level 6. Finally, graduates completing the full four years earn a BA (Hons) Immersive Media Production at NFQ Level 8, officially awarded by IADT.
Course Content
This dynamic programme splits learning across two campuses. Initially, students spend Years 1 and 2 at Ballyfermot College mastering foundational production and digital skills. Following this, they transition to IADT for Years 3 and 4 to focus on advanced technologies, research, and a major final project. Requirements
Academic Requirements:

Leaving Certificate (Post-2017): Two H5 grades plus four O6/H7 grades.

Leaving Certificate (Pre-2017): Two Higher Level C3 grades plus four Ordinary D3 grades.

If English is not the applicant’s first language, they must provide evidence of competency, such as an IELTS score between 6.0 and 6.5.
Portfolio Requirements:

Applicants must submit a relevant portfolio containing 5 to 15 pieces of work.
