Course description

Course Description:

This course is available for very advanced students only, who have completed at least the two most recent courses of embroidery with Uisce.

The participants will choose one art piece form a suggested range of works by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and by Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh. If you wish, you can work on more than one!

The works by these Scottish Art Nouveau artists are a perfect challenge to practice a variety of stitches and techniques you have learnt over the past few semesters. The projects can be interpreted in many ways, with various linear and filling stitches, gold-work techniques, bead-work techniques etc. The students are encouraged to work on silk fabric, which is a more challenging choice, but suits the pieces beautifully.

The pieces have their colour scheme, but you can choose your own colours to apply in your project.

The students will need to provide their own materials and tools for the course. The teacher will provide the patterns and support via email and WhatsApp through the entire course.
