Course description

The performance of a building depends on the continued integrity of the building fabric, the contribution of its environmental services and the protection of the building from those agents which can cause its deterioration and subsequent failure.
Students will study the conditions which affect the performance of a building, the technologies used to provide and maintain a suitable environment and the strategies for management of these highly technical elements from construction stage and through their in-service life.
An Architectural Technologist is a person who has a specialised knowledge in the area of architectural detailing and drawing (both manual and computer aided) in accordance with best building practice and current legislation.
