About Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed

The Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed offer two strands of training – Local Training Initiatives (LTI’s) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

  1. Local Training Initiatives (LTIs) provide vocational training opportunities, learning supports and project-based learning to assist participants to achieve awards on the NFQ and to develop the capacity to progress to further education and work. LTI’s are free to attend and participants have access to training allowances for the duration.  Our LTI’s include:
    • Building Futures is a QQI accredited programme with participants working towards a level 5 major award in Community Development.
    • Shaping Futures is a QQI accredited programme with participants working towards a level 4 major award in Employability Skills.
  2. The CPD training offered is targeted at information and advocacy workers working with the unemployed and those distant from the labour market.
    • QQI level 6 Information, Advice and Advocacy training equips participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to become autonomous information and advocacy workers.
    • QQI level 6 Welfare Rights training looks extensively at the welfare system, housing provision, and provision of health services, tax system and employment rights.
    • On request training is tailor made based on the needs of each organisation.
