Building Healthy Nutrition Habits for Life

Course Description:

This is a fun and engaging evidence-based course where you will learn what a healthy and sustainable diet looks like and tips to help you achieve this.

Most people have a good idea of what healthy foods are but in reality, the practice of making meals and healthy snacks can be tricky.

This course is for anyone who is confused by all the conflicting nutritional advice out there and those who have tried unsuccessfully to change their diet.

The objective of this course is to:

Give you the skills and knowledge to make healthy food choices
Empower you to meal plan and batch cook so you can save money and avoid the takeaway
Encourage you to eat a greater variety of foods and reduce diet -related chronic diseases

The course will cover key topics over 10 weeks:

  1. What does a healthy and sustainable diet look like? Sorting fact from fiction.
  2. Fats, protein and fibre. How much do you need and how to ensure you are getting the correct balance of macronutrients
  3. Learning to read food labels and key things to look out for
  4. Diet across the life cycle – what foods are important at different life stages
  5. Putting it all together- Meal planning and batch cooking tips and techniques

Course Day & Time: Wednesday  Evenings Course 7.30 – 9.30 pm

Please Note: This is a classroom based course only with no cooking involved.

Duration: 10 weeks – Maximum of 12 students in class

I understand the challenges associated with putting healthy, sustainable and cost-effective meals on the table for you and your family. My approach is to keep things simple and introduce small behavioural changes that make a big difference over the long term.
