WHAT IS AUCTIONEERING, VALUATION AND ESTATE AGENCY?

This one-year course will prepare students for a career as an Estate Agent, Property Manager or Property Valuer. It will enable them to gain understanding of how the property market functions. By the end of the year, students will be equipped with key Auctioneering and Estate Agency skills and will develop an understanding of economics, law, marketing and valuation among other skills. Estate Agents work within the residential and commercial buildings sector. They are typically involved in sales, lettings management, valuation and advertising properties. Modules on this course will allow you to gain a base knowledge within the property sector allowing for progression towards further studies and gaining a licence enabling you to work as an Auctioneer/Estate Agent.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates from this course can access many university and college degrees throughout the country. There are places available to students in TUD TUS and DKIT on specific Estate Agency, Property and Valuation courses. Apprenticeships are available in this sector. There are further options in Technological Universities Munster Technological University, Atlantic Technological University and South East Technological University in other related areas such as Architectural Technology, Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics. Students may also progress to Business degrees within universities such as Maynooth, DCU and UCD. Students can progress to work in areas such as Estate Agents, Property Valuers, Property Managers and Letting Agents. With the business element to this course, students can progress to work as administrators within an Estate Agency and in other types of offices.
