In 1975, A Community College was opened in Cumberland Street under the statutory authority of Dun Laoghaire Vocational Education Committee. The name of the college has changed a few times, but the high standards have always been maintained. In July 2013, Dun Laoghaire VEC merged with County Dublin VEC to form the Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board.
Dublin College Dun Laoghaire is located at the Monkstown end of Dun Laoghaire. It is a five-minute walk from both Dun Laoghaire and Salthill & Monkstown DART stations and is well served by bus routes E2, 7A, 7, 45A, L27, and S8.
