Question
Are there any alternatives to the state funded CAO colleges in Ireland?
Answer
"Side by side with the publicly funded tertiary sector are a number of private institutions mainly involved in the provision of business and professional educational training. There are a number of very successful independent colleges offering a wide variety of courses including degrees and higher certificates. These qualifications are accredited by UK colleges, QQI. and other professional bodies. Independent education providers invite direct applications from school leavers, graduates and professionals for any of its full-time or part-time courses. The entry requirements are not based on points but may require certain minimum qualification and/or relevant work experience. More details about these colleges can be viewed on the Higher Education College Association website - www.heca.ie

All direct application colleges have excellent websites where all your questions and queries related to courses, requirements and funding are dealt with."
