OVERVIEW
This easy-to-follow course provides a comprehensive introduction to health and safety at work in Ireland, covering the key legislation and regulations every worker and employer should know.
Designed for total beginners, it explains the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, General Application Regulations, accident reporting, chemical agent safety, and construction regulations in plain, professional language.

By the end of this course you will be able to:
• Identify the key provisions of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
• Explain the duties of employers and employees under Irish health and safety law.
• Describe the requirements of the General Application Regulations for workplace safety.
• Apply the correct procedures for reporting accidents and dangerous occurrences.
• Recognise the main elements of the Code of Practice for Chemical Agents Regulations.
• Understand the specific safety and welfare requirements in the Construction Regulations 2013.

COURSE DELIVERY
This is an online self-paced course that you complete in your own time.
The course is easy to follow and is designed for people who are complete beginners to Safety, Health and Welfare at work.
This is not a tutor-delivered course.
ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION
At the end of each module you are given a quiz with 3-4 short easy multiple-choice questions – from which you select your answer.
If you get the answer wrong, you can take the quiz again.
When you get to the end of the course you are now eligible for the Level 5 (IRL) Unit Certificate in Compliance with Safety, Health and Welfare at Work in Ireland accredited and awarded by the Awarding Body for Sustainable Development (ABSD Awards).
Note – you do not need to complete any additional coursework other than the module quizzes to gain this qualification.
