Course Description
The Professional Diploma in IT Technical Support is designed to provide learners with a strong foundation in essential IT systems, technical support skills, and computer operations. This programme introduces the core principles of IT support and equips students with the practical knowledge required to work confidently with operating systems, networks, hardware, software applications, and basic cybersecurity concepts.

This course is available via live online learning or part time, on campus.
Learners will develop expertise across key areas including computer hardware and software, operating systems, network connectivity, IT troubleshooting, and security fundamentals, while also building the skills required to support end-users in home and business environments.
This programme also provides pathways into entry-level IT support roles and further professional certifications such as CompTIA ITF+ and CompTIA A+.

Entry Requirements
This course is suitable for beginners and individuals considering a career in IT. No prior technical experience is required.
A basic ability to use a keyboard and mouse is helpful but not essential.
Learners will require a Windows laptop or PC (Windows 8 or newer recommended). Tablets (e.g. iPad) are not suitable.

Assessment
To achieve the Diploma, learners must complete:
• Continuous assessment tasks during the course
• Practical assignments based on IT support scenarios
• Participation and engagement in class activities
Learners who do not meet assessment requirements may receive a Certificate of Attendance instead of the Diploma award.
This course also prepares learners for the optional CompTIA ITF+ certification exam.
