This one-year course will prepare students for entrance into Law and Arts programmes in Irish universities and colleges. It will also prepare students to work in a legal environment both in Ireland and abroad. This law course option is available with political studies. Law and politics are two distinctive disciplines that are often intrinsically connected. Students will have the opportunity to explore legal and political theory while developing critical research and communication skills. Graduates with a degree in this area have a broad range of career options such in law, consultancy, public sector roles, political roles, public affairs and advocacy.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
There are places for graduates of this course on Law and Legal Studies degrees in TCD, UCC, DCU, TUD City Campus, Maynooth University incl. St. Patrick’s College Maynooth, South East Technological University Waterford / Carlow, NUIG, DBS, Shannon College, Atlantic Technological University Letterkenny. There are now over 175 places in First Arts in Maynooth University, 30 places in UCD as well as numerous places in DCU, UCC, Mater Dei, and many Universities for students who hold a QQI qualification in Legal Studies. There are also many other opportunities in law or legal studies programmes in third level colleges all around Ireland. We also have, a very close link with Bangor University in Wales. In addition, there are opportunities in travel and tourism, European administration, local heritage concerns, the public sector as well as in the business world through insurance, banking, or international trade.
