MACHINE SEWING – Intermediate Level
Course Description:
Continue with your journey of learning how to get the best from your sewing machine, make satisfying items with your personal touch and piece together simple clothing items.
Students must have basic skills in the following to register:
Threading and using their machine
Sewing a seam
Sewing a straight line
Unpicking
The following skills will be covered:
Buttonholes and zips
Cutting out simple patterns
Sewing children/adult simple clothing items
Craft/household items if preferred to clothing
You will be able to choose to make a couple of items e.g. Child or adult tracksuit, hoodies, shorts
Students will be required to:
Supply their own fabric for the items they are making (assistance will be given re the information for the type of fabric required, amount required and places to purchase)
Bring your own sewing machine,
sewing thread (Gutermann, Mettler, Coats, Zwicky – please do not use any other makes),
sharp sewing scissors,
tape measure/ruler,
long sharp pins,
marking pencil/chalk and
other accessories you may like to use.
Course Day & Time: Thursday evenings 7.00 – 9.00 pm
Start Date: 21/09/23
Cost: €110

Course Format: In class with tutor
Sewing Machine: Students who register for this course need to have and bring their own sewing machines to the class each week
Duration: 10 weeks – Maximum of 10 students in class
