Coaching For Success – Tools for Success in Relationships, Career & Life
Course Description:
This 8-week interactive class is designed to help people who may feel stuck, overwhelmed or need some support in various aspects of their personal or professional lives. Through coaching, students will learn practical tools to set and achieve goals, manage everyday emotional stress, build resilience, develop self-awareness and confidence.
Week 1 – Introduction & Foundations of Coaching/Goal-Setting
- Welcome, course objectives & group guidelines
- Exploring the concept of being stuck, overwhelmed, goal setting.
- Self-assessment: strengths and areas for development
Week 2 – Managing Emotional Stress
- Understanding our emotions, stress triggers and responses
- Practical tools to manage stress and emotions
- Guided mindfulness/relaxation exercise
Week 3 – Reframing the Inner Critic & Building Self-Esteem
- Identifying negative self-talk and limiting beliefs
- Cognitive reframing techniques
- Group exercise on compliments and insults
- Journaling exercise: Transforming inner dialogue
Week 4 – Goal Setting & Stepping Outside the Comfort Zone
- SMART goal-setting principles
- Overcoming fear and resistance to change
- Practical goal-setting activity
Week 5 – Developing Personal Resilience
- Defining resilience and its key components
- Building a personal resilience plan
- Reflection: Learning from past challenges
Week 6 – Assertive Communication
- Understanding assertive vs passive vs aggressive communication
- Practising assertive responses through roleplay
- Strategies to handle difficult conversations
Week 7 – Enhancing Motivation & Confidence through Coaching Principles
- Introduction to the coaching mindset
- Identifying intrinsic motivators
- Self-coaching tools for sustained growth
Week 8 – Integration, Reflection & Future Planning
- Review of key learnings
- Sharing progress and achievements
- Creating a personal action plan
- Expected Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will:
- Understand and manage emotional stress more effectively
- Develop greater self-awareness and resilience
- Communicate more confidently and assertively
- Set and pursue meaningful personal and professional goals
- Feel more empowered to navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence
