Subject matter includes painting, still life and free expression. DrawingThe drawing course introduces students to charcoal, pencil, pastel, inks and a range of alternative materials in a variety of subjects: figure drawing, still life, self potraiture and ultilising fun modern techniques training the eye to see.Combined MaterialsCombined materials offers students the chance to learn many textile techniques such as felting, batik, papermaking and weaving. On this course students will learn how to manipulate and mix varied materials to create a totally orginal art piece.Printed TextilesPrinted textiles involves silkscreen painting, block printing and painting on fabric. On this course the student learns how to use dyes with an emphasis on design, texture and colour.SculptureThe Sculpture course offers the student the opportunity to explore a wide varity of sculpture techniques, which includes, modelling clay, casting, plaster carving, wire, paper, ciment fondu, as well as some unusual materials. During the course the students will be encoureged to develop their ideas to a portifolio level, through material manipulation and sketch books, they will also be introduced to contemporary practice through exhibitions, videos and talks.PhotographyThroughout the creative industries there is a need for skilled, creative, mature image producers, fully conversant with analogue and digital technologies.This course develops creative ability and the opportunity to learn and develop photographic skills. The course teaches students how the camera works through to more complex darkroom techniques.
