Colaiste Dhulaigh
Coláiste Dhúlaigh College of Further Education (CDCFE), operating under the City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB), is a major provider of further education across North Dublin. The college caters to a diverse student body, including Leaving Certificate graduates, mature learners, and career changers seeking to upskill. Offering over 30 full-time Post-Leaving Certificate (PLC) courses at QQI Levels 5 and 6, alongside pre-apprenticeships and traineeships, CDCFE focuses on delivering practical, career-oriented training that prepares students for direct entry into the workforce or progression to higher education.
To accommodate its extensive range of programmes, the college operates across four distinct campus locations, each equipped with modern facilities tailored to specific disciplines:
- Coolock Campus: The main administrative hub, offering a wide array of courses including business, computing, science, media, art and design, and hair and beauty.
- Raheny Campus: Serves as the dedicated centre for healthcare, nursing studies, social care, and early childhood education programmes.
- Kilbarrack Campus: Houses specialised training facilities for animation, architectural technology, engineering, and various pre-apprenticeship trade courses.
- Malahide Campus: The base for the college’s renowned Shackleton Outdoor Education programme, focusing on adventure sports and wilderness guiding.
In addition to its full-time daytime provision, CDCFE offers a substantial selection of part-time and evening courses, including flexible options through the Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS) and the Back to Education Initiative (BTEI). The college also maintains strong progression agreements with Irish universities and technological universities. Uniquely, it provides ‘top-up’ degree programmes in partnership with UK universities, allowing students in specific disciplines to complete a full BA Honours degree directly on campus.
