Where Imagination Becomes Experience Seminar

The ‘Where Imagination Becomes Experience’ seminar is an international academic and practitioner conference celebrating the 90th birthday and life’s work of Cecily O’Neill, a pioneering figure in drama and theatre education. The event explores how drama education builds empathy, agency, and ethical thinking.

The weekend features a mix of keynotes, panels, and practical sessions: 
Keynote Address: Cecily O’Neill delivering an address titled ‘Finding Form’.
Practical Workshops: Hands-on, interactive sessions led directly by O’Neill and other leading figures in the drama education community.
Screenings & Discussions: A new documentary, Imagined Worlds with Cecily O’Neill, and digital poster carousels detailing modern processes of aesthetic experience and reflection.
Special Features: Evening meals, celebrations, and an optional visit to the Book of Kells exhibition.
