STEPS Engineering Your Future Virtual Work Experience

All secondary school students in Ireland can apply for the STEPS Engineering Your Future Virtual Work Experience in association with Springpod from September 2025.

This is an entirely free experience and runs from 15th September 2025 to 18th January 2026.

What is Springpod?

Springpod is an online platform that provides virtual work experience and university course tasters for young people aged 13 to 24. It partners with employers and universities to offer interactive programmes that help students explore career paths and develop relevant skills. These experiences are typically free and accessible on demand, making them a flexible option for students who may not have access to in-person opportunities.

About Springpod Engineering Your Future Virtual Work Experience?

• The content is entirely online so you can take part at a time that suits you.
• This programme will include reading, video and interactive content, as well as recorded webinars and activities.
• The recorded webinars are all provided by Irish engineers.
• This programme will give you an overview of the engineering industry before zoning in on mechanical, chemical, electrical and civil engineering. You’ll explore specific areas within the industry and cover pathways, interactive activities and self-assessments.
