Engineers Week

engineers week - engineering courses Ireland

Taking place in early March, Engineers Week encourages primary and post-primary students, their teachers and parents to explore the exciting world of engineering as well as highlighting the diverse career opportunities engineering offers. The annual event which is now in its 14th year, comprises a series of activities across the country to promote engineering as a career and the importance of the profession to children in Ireland.

Last years campaign involved more than 800 activities which were attended by over 99,000 participants. Engineers week is coordinated on a national basis by Engineers Ireland’s STEPS programme – funded under Science Foundation Ireland’s Discover Programme Call and supported by industry leaders, TII, Arup, ESB and Intel.

    Who are STEPS?
The Engineers Ireland STEPS Programme is a non-profit outreach programme that promotes interest and awareness in engineering as a future career to school students in the Republic of Ireland through a portfolio of projects.
