Higher Certificate in Hospitality Studies
This programme provides learners with the opportunity to study diverse aspects of hospitality operations, gaining key skills and knowledge essential for employment in the hospitality industry. Participants will study a variety of subjects providing them with compentencies for employment in hostels, restaurants, and other hospitality businesses. The philosophy guiding the design of this programme focuses on developing andlsquo;the art of hospitality' as an intrinsic part of a unique customer experience. The development of craft and supervisory skills, together with extensive industry experience eqips learners to deliver a unique customer experience.
On completion of this programme graduates will have the compentence to work in a multifunctional capacity in a range of operational roles in the hospitality industry including:
restaurant service, bar, accommodation service and front office.
Grade D3 at Ordinary level in a minimun of five subjects in the leaving certificate including either Irish or English
Students wishing to progress to another programme are eligible to apply to year two of the Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management
