The Art course introduces you to the materials, techniques and ideas of contemporary art. Artists look at, and think critically about the world.  Artists create new ways of seeing and responding, encouraging debate and change in society.

What will I do?

–– Work broadly and experimentally across a wide range of media and practices including paint, print, photography, video, sculpture, sound, performance and curation.

–– Explore the many opportunities that exist for artists, through the creative pathways of contemporary art.

–– As you progress you will develop an area of specialism which allows you to best express your abilities and ambitions.

–– Workshops in painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, video, digital media and performance arts provide with a solid basis from which to develop your practice. Find inspiration in a studio arts programme where you will be taught new ways to look at the world and to develop your artistic skills and critical thinking.  The Art BA will introduce you to the huge variety of approaches, methods and materials being used in contemporary art in the 21st century and you will find the creative approach that best allows you to express your ideas.
