BN003 Higher Certificate in Business Aim This course aims to equip students to meet the needs of a growing economy for personnel with business administration and information technology skills. Students will be introduced to the diverse aspects that comprise a business enterprise or other organisation. They will also gain an understanding of the concepts and processes of management. Opportunities exist for those who meet the qualifications at higher certificate level to ordinary bachelor degree and honours bachelor degree level. Minimum entry requirements The minimum entry requirements for standard entrants are a pass in five subjects (ordinary level) in the Leaving Certificate, to include Mathematics and English or Irish, or an equivalent qualification. Leaving Certificate Mathematics at Foundation Level (at Grade B2 or higher) counts as a subject towards the five passes. The points awarded for Foundation Level Mathematics (at grade B2 or higher) is a follows: A1 = 20 points A2 = 15 points B1 = 10 points B2 = 5 points Mature students may be admitted without meeting these formal minimum requirements.
