Locksmith Course

Hi everyone my name is Alfred and i want to learn the home security business. I trying to see what is the best way to get a course which can teach me about both Alarm and locksmith trade in Dublin. I tried to call a few locksmiths who can provide locksmith training but none of them except to Dave Locksmith Dublin can teach me the trade. The bad new is this company that i just mentioned want me to pay them more then 4k per course which is very expansive. what should ido about it?

Hi Alfred many employers provide their own training that is carried out by senior qualified locksmiths. In some cases this training can take up to five years. Practical craft and engineering skills will give you an advantage in entering this work. Regarding the alarm installation side of things a company called Hi-Tech Training do alarm installation and other security courses. (They are listed on at the following page -

Legislation dictates that all security employees in Ireland including locksmiths now have to be licensed so this is another consideration to bear in mind.

An organisation that might be helpful is the Associated Locksmiths of Ireland (ALOI) at Howth Road, Raheny, their telephone number is (01) 8550 625. Good luck!
