ECCE with Montessori

The Early Childhood Care and Education Level 6 Major Award (ECCE with Montessori)
will provide the skills, knowledge and competence that will enable learners to develop a career as a Montessori Teacher for children whose age range is between 3 – 6 years.

The aim is to provide learners with a level of competence that will enable them to work as highly skilled professionals in this field.  The Montessori Teaching course trains you to educate children in a way that gives them the best possible foundation for life.

The key principles of Siolta are planted within the programme and the learners are taken on a journey that both embraces and compliments  the themes of Aistear  and the philosophy of Maria Montessori.

(Philosophy Lecturers are delivered in the Montessori Method of Education)

(Practical Life Exercises / Sensorial Education)
 

Assessment
A combination of module appropriate assessment procedures will facilitate the assessment of learning outcomes of this course. These methods will include a combination of final written examinations and continuous  assessment processes such as assignments, collection of work, learner records, projects and skills  demonstration.

QQI Early Childhood Care and Education  Level 6 Major Award
Awarded by: (QQI) Quality and Qualifications Ireland
A total Credit Value of 120 is required for this certification.

For any one of the Modules successfully completed Learners will receive a Minor award.

Work Experience
The modules outlined above are complemented and consolidated through practical work experience. A work experience programme of 100 hours must be completed outside of scheduled class time in order to satisfy the requirements of the FETAC work experience module. This provides the opportunity to merge classroom learning with practical experience under the tutelage of experienced and qualified professionals in a Montessori/Early Childcare setting.
