CAO CODE: MH212 The BSc (Hons) Science Education is a four-year degree for students who wish to become teachers of science in second-level schools. It consists of a study programme based around subject modules amounting to 60 credits per year. In the first year, students take courses worth 15 credits each in Biology, Chemistry, Experimental Physics and Mathematics. Students continue in more detail (20 credit courses) with two of these subjects in each of the following three years. The chosen science subjects are taken to honours degree level and equip students to become fully fledged scientists in their chosen discipline. In second, third and fourth year, students also study the education disciplines at honours level and gain practical experience in second level schools.
