This Dublin based course is open to anybody who wants to attain a professional qualification in fitness instruction and personal training. The qualification is awarded by the University of Limerick. Graduates are qualified to teach a full range of fitness classes. They are trained to carry out fitness assessments and design fitness programmes for a variety of people with different fitness objectives.
The Certificate in Exercise and Health Fitness qualifies graduates to supervise and instruct on the gym floor including the cardio, machine weights and free weight areas. Graduates will also be qualified to teach group exercise classes in:
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
Studio Fitness, Exercise to Music
Graduates are also trained to conduct fitness assessments on individuals and groups and design exercise programmes suitable for a variety of fitness levels and different needs and goals.
All graduates are also qualified as a First Aid Responder (FAR) from the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC)
The course is run by Motions Health and Fitness Training in Dublin. The course is based in D.I.T. college in Kevin St, Dublin 2. There are full time and part time options.
Motions has been teaching this course for over 25 years. Tutors are experienced fitness instructors who have worked in every aspect of the fitness industry. This adds to the practical nature of the course and gives students an insight into careers in fitness.
