Creative Media Technologies is a practical, hands on course for those interested in technology and how it is applied to a number of media platforms.
Students study hardware, electronics, audio and video technologies and have the opportunity to apply this knowledge in a range of practical environments (computing/electronics labs, radio and TV studios). Students learn by doing; they invent, create and explore emergent technologies from Audio Visual Systems Design to the Internet of Things.
We are looking for makers and builders, creators and thinkers, people with the imagination to explore technology and design our future environment.
What will I do?
You will have the opportunity to work with a range of technologies; hardware and software, video and broadcast technologies, audio visual (AV) technologies and music technologies. You will be able to specialise according to your interests. Modules on maths, networking, electronics and microcontrollers will give you the tools to realise your creative ambitions. You will have the opportunity to exhibit your work throughout the course:
In year 1 + 2, your work will be on display at a Technology Showcase at IADT as part of Engineers Ireland Engineer’s Week.
In year 3 + 4, you will design and develop an individual project that will be exhibited at our Graduate Showcase – www.showcase.iadt.ie.
