CAO CODE: CM001 The Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) is a three-year professional degree programme that meets the academic and professional requirements for primary teaching. The course is taught in conjunction with the School of Education in Trinity College Dublin (TCD). Students register formally with both colleges and attend lectures in Marino as well as on the TCD campus in the centre of Dublin. The first three years of the course lead to a Bachelorof Education degree (NFQ Level 7). All graduating students may proceed to study for an honours Bachelor Degree (NFQ Level 8) which is a one-year part-time programme delivered in Trinity College Dublin. Graduates usually complete the NFQ Level 8 degree during their first year teaching. This optional year may be undertaken by B.Ed. graduates within 5 years of the completion of the degree. Lectures during this year are held in the late afternoon in Trinity College Dublin.
