Course description

Course Details

CIW is the world's fastest growing vendor-neutral Internet skills training and certification program for students and professionals. More than a certification or a curriculum publisher, CIW is a Web technology standard adopted by academic institutions, governments and businesses worldwide.

CMIT is an approved CIW training provider and provide CIW official training materials.

The CIW Web Design Specialist course is for the individual who wants to develop the skills necessary to specialise in Web site design. In this course, you will build upon your basic Web authoring skills to learn the essentials and best practices of Web design, including design theory, tools and technologies. You will approach design from the Web user's perspective so that you can identify with user interests and needs. You will also assume the roles of Web designer and project manager, as you work through the Web site development process by evolving a Web presence site into a working prototype Web project. Students with little or no background in Web design should consider starting with the CIW Site Development Foundations course to learn the basics of Web site authoring and development.

Candidates who also earn the CIW E-Commerce Specialist certification earn the advanced CIW Web Design Professional certification.

Students are provided with the following resources:

Official Course manuals – covering the entire syllabus.

eLearning resources – access to movies, course review questions, exercises and flash cards.

Virtual Labs – Virtual labs are designed to teach, in an engaging manner, about the most important, cutting-edge concepts in Web design.

Exam Study Guide – condensed study material on the specific skills objectives you need to master for the exams.

Exam Pre-Assessment and Practice Exams.
