The CCNA certification validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size computer networks. The CCNA Security certification validates the ability to develop a security infrastructure, recognize malicious threats and vulnerabilities to computer systems and networks, and mitigate security threats.
As an accredited Cisco Networking Academy BFEI's Cisco lab is equipped with the latest Cisco equipment, Cisco simulation tools and uses Cisco’s on-line curriculum.
This is a mornings only course, all classes finish by 1pm.
Applications are welcome from those who have:
a level 5 FETAC/QQI award in an IT area, or
an IT qualification in a related area (for example A+, Network+, or Microsoft certification), or
a degree or equivalent in a non-IT subject area, or
work experience in an IT area.
This course is certified by CISCO and QQI.
Assessment for the CCNA and CCNA Security certification is through online testing.
Learners are prepared for two components from the QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Computer Systems and Networks (6M0695). These components can be used to build towards a full Level 6 award.
QQI assessment is based on a combination of work submitted during the year and online exams.
