The Centre for Adult Learning & Professional Development host an annual information evening each June to highlight the many courses on offer.
These include their part-time courses offerings, including their Springboard+ courses and Micro-credentials. Springboard+ courses are 100% funded for the unemployed and returners, and 90% funded for employed. Also featuring at this event are courses funded through the University’s Skillnet partners.
Among the exciting course developments at the Centre is the expansion of its Micro-credentials portfolio. Micro-credentials are short, flexible and accredited courses designed to deliver industry-relevant knowledge, expertise, and skills in a focused timeframe.
Details of the Micro-credential Course Learner Fee Subsidy will also be available at the information evening. This subsidy offers up to 80% funding for courses addressing skills in key priority areas, including renewable energy, sustainability, construction & planning, artificial intelligence, cyber security, ICT, and electronic engineering. Other courses will provide a 50% learner subsidy rate.
This event creates an opportunity for students to meet representatives from our part-time courses which will be showcased at the event, including the subject areas of Business & Management, Science & Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Languages, Arts & Humanities, Community Education, and Pre-University Courses.
“We recognise that undertaking a part-time course of study is a commitment so it’s important to get as much information as possible when deciding on your course. In-person information events provide a valuable opportunity to explore what’s involved and meet directly with teaching staff. It’s an important part of the research journey”, explains Nuala McGuinn, Director at the Centre for Adult Learning and Professional Development.
Over the course of the evening prospective students will have an opportunity to join one of our talks exploring part-time courses & micro-credentials, understanding NFQ Levels, and grasping the RPL process and how it can support your eligibility for study. Our academics will introduce you to our new Advanced Manufacturing courses and provide an overview of the 4-year BA in Social Care.
