Description

So much is talked about teamwork and team-building that it’s easy to wonder somethimes if a lot of the talk is useless jargon. Real teams have something different from collections of individuals who say they are team players but in reality concentrate on looking after themselves first. Being creative and generating new ideas is what puts the best organisations at an advantage over their competitors. Fostering creativity and innovative thinking lead to new ideas and new , more efficient and effective ways of doing things. Key topics include: Developing trust in teams Personality factors Emotional intelligence Group theory and practice Techniques for creative ideas Overcoming barriers to creativity Managing creative ideas Effectiveness of creativity and innovation Course Aims, Length and Entry Aims: The course is designed to help people to improve their team-building skills and their capacity to foster creativity and innovation, so that they can help to harnass the energy of all the team members and ensure that each has the chance to contribute to achieving agreed goals. Duration: It runs for one and a half days. Entry: The Institute of Leadership and Management ILM operates an ‘Open Entry’ policy but prospective participants should be able to apply what they learn on the course in an organisational setting (need not be in a job). Certification: There are no examination with participants instead completing assignments which are assessed. On successful completion of the assignments participants receive their Certificate from the ILM.
