Description
The term Special Needs is used by childcare and educational professionals in relation to children whose development is atypical-not following the "recognised" pattern seen in most children. All children are on a continuum of development and children with Special Needs are simply at different points in the developmental continuum. Through edcuation and moves towards integration and inclusiveness there is better awareness of the issues surrounding disability.
Portobello School has developed this full time course to give you in-depth awareness of a Special Needs child and their specific requirements. It will also give you an insight into the facilities and services available in Ireland for Special Needs Children.
Upon completion of this course students will be awarded the following;
- FETAC Level 6 Certificate of Competency In Special Needs Education.
- FETAC Level 6 Certificate in Laguages
- FETAC Level 6 Certificate in Mathematics
- FETAC Level 5 Certificate of Competency in Special Needs Education.
- FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Sensorial Studies
- FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Child Development
- FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Behavioural Studies
