This programme prepares students wishing to make their
careers in Valuation Surveying, Real Estate, Investment and
Management, Property Auctioneering and Estate Agency in
Ireland and abroad. It is also suitable for those interested
in Property Development, Town Planning and the general
investment market. The broad aim of the programme is to
develop a property professional capable of operating in a
dynamic and competitive environment. Graduates may be
employed as valuers, estate agents, property consultants
and investment advisors, developers and planners. The
programme provides an education in the fi nancial, legal,
planning and construction aspects of property in the context
of the investment market in general and it provides students
with a thorough understanding of the economic functioning
of the built environment. Upon successful completion
of an assessment of professional competence, holders of
these awards are eligible for Corporate Membership of the
Society of Chartered Surveyors and the Royal Institution of
Chartered Surveyors in the U.K. They are exempted from the
Intermediate Examination of the Royal Town Planning Institute
and are also accepted for entry to appropriate postgraduate
programmes in Ireland and abroad. The programme is also
recognised by the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute. |
