This is the first degree in Ireland that recognises and brings together both counselling skills and addiction studies to develop professional practitioners who can work in this growing area. The programme will work with participants to develop key skills when working with those affected by all forms of addiction and their environments. The programme is a practical one developing knowledge that can help and enable people to develop individual tailor made progression plans. The degree is accredited by the Higher Education and Training Awards Council of Ireland and as part of the National Framework of Qualifications is recognised by both the statutory, community and business sectors.
