The Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) –Intellectual Disability (ID) is a four year degree programme offered by the Department of Nursing and Health Studies at St. Angela’s College in partnership with Wisdom Services, Cregg House, Sligo. On successful completion of the programme students will be able to present for registration with An Bord Altranais and practice as a Registered Nurse Intellectual Disability (R.N.I.D.). The overall aim of the programme is to equip students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to become competent, analytical and reflective nurses.
The programme provides graduates with an academic and professional qualification. Graduates can work in a variety of settings - community homes; residential settings; schools and individuals’ homes. In addition, the degree is recognised internationally so graduates can work all over the world. |
