LA Make-Up Academy was buzzing with make-up activity over the
weekend, attracting hundreds of ‘ beauty-istas’ to it’s Dame Street
Studios.
Over 200 people attended this fantastic event, where
people had a chance to enjoy complimentary make-overs, special
discounts on courses, make-up brands and a complimentary photo-shoot.
Make-Up
demonstrations was one of the Open Day’s main attraction which included
Body Paint By Shima Mistry- Model Ciara Bourke was painted in a
wonderful nature design including butterflies and flowers. Mr
International Ireland 2009 Francis Xavier-Usanga was also there on the
day, painted in a black & white tribal design.
Special
Effects Demonstration was led by artist Christine Jones whose model,
Nicole Sutherland, bravely demonstrated special effect make-up as used
in block buster movies such as gun shots, head injuries and a severed
finger. While Sarah-Jane Wai O’Flynn and Laura Kinney demonstrated High
Fashion and the latest catwalk looks on model Jacqui Carrol.
La
Make-Up Academy has also just launched their new studios in London and
Los Angeles. Lorraine O Neill, Managing Director of LA Make-Up Academy,
said her ambition was for the company to to be an “internationally
recognised centre of excellence for make-up artistry, beauty therapy
and fashion styling”.
With studios in Dublin, London and Los
