Diploma in Law
Both public and private sector employees are increasingly expected to understand the legal context in which their everyday duties take place. The IPA’s Diploma in Law is a one-year part-time programme that addresses the basic laws and legal principles that determine and influence the work of the State and of private enterprise. This Diploma focuses on four key subjects and will serve as an ideal introduction for those who have no prior knowledge of law.
Audience
The Diploma will appeal to all those who would like to obtain a basic grounding in law.
Delivery and Duration
This programme takes one academic year. It begins in late September and ends with examinations in mid April. It can be taken in three different ways:
- Evening lectures at the IPA in Dublin
- Evening lectures at selected regional centres
- Distance education
Programme Content
The Diploma consists of four subjects
- The Legal System and Constitutional Law
- Business and Company Law
- Administrative Law
- Employment Law
Accreditation
The Diploma in Law is accredited by the National University of Ireland (NUI).
Assessment
This programme is assessed through assignments (one assignment for each subject) and final examinations. |
