Description

The College of Oriental Medicine (formerly the International Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine) was established in 2006 to provide the highest standards of training in Chinese Medicine in Ireland. It was rebranded in 2011 to reflect the breadth and depth of courses on offer covering all modalities of Oriental Medicine:

    •    Acupuncture
    •    Herbal Medicine
    •    Tuina (Chinese Massage)
    •    Qigong
    •    Tai Chi
    •    Chinese Nutrition

All these modalities are taught in an integrated fashion as part of our Diploma and BSc Degree Level courses.  We also place a great deal of emphasis on the concept of integrating orthodox medicine and Chinese Medicine treatment, providing many diverse and in depth biomedical clinical modules in key areas, allowing our graduates to be able to practise seamlessly in an integrated medicine setting.
The faculty trainers are passionate and dedicated practitioners of Oriental Medicine and transmit these qualities to students. Together with the deep and comprehensive training they receive, this enables our graduates to become fully confident and capable at graduation of treating a wide range of complicated, chronic and severe cases, either in their own private practice or in an integrated medicine setting.

• Our TCM Diploma: spaced over 3 years, has a fully transparent and accountable total of 1096 contact hours. This provides a superb platform from which to deliver upgrade years to the Degree Level of the student’s choice .

• Acupuncture or Chinese Herbal Medicine BSc Degree Level (1272 contact hours) or
• TCM BSc Honours (including both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine Degree Level) (1600 contact hours).

• All Degree Level contact hours are fully transparent and accountable.

Our Diploma and Degree level courses are designed in accordance with Irish, UK and USA professional accreditation and core curricula in mind.  It is one of our core values at the College of Oriental Medicine that our graduates can become eligible to practice in any of these countries.
