CAO CODE:CE001 The Church of Ireland College of Education is one of five colleges of education in the Republic of Ireland providing the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.) degree, the qualification generally required to teach in Irish primary schools. The college provides a supply of teachers for primary schools under the management of the Church of Ireland and other Protestant denominations. The ordinary course of three years' duration leads to the University of Dublin, Trinity College, degree of Bachelor of Education. Suitably qualified students who wish to read for an honours degree of Bachelor of Education may register for a fourth year to study wholly within the university's Department of Teacher Education.
