The Diploma in CSI Criminology & Forensic Psychology is 11 weeks in duration and will commence Weds 8 February 2012, 10.30-21.30 and/or Saturday 4 February 2012, 10.00-13.00. Students have a choice of study between Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings. The course is held off Dame Street, Dublin 2.
From vandalism, and ant-social behaviour, through to the most serious of crimes such as murder and terrorism, the Diploma in Criminology and Forensic psychology course will show how psychology can help us identify the offender. Areas covered include forensic investigation techniques, forensic science and DNA, behaviour profiling and the criminal justice system. The lecturing team draws on their experience working in an Garda Siochana, Criminal courts and Psychology. The course is based on the disciplines of sociology, criminology, social work, police force and the legal system.
Former graduates, now work in An Garda Siochana, Welfare Service, Forensic Science Laboratories, Psychologists/Counsellors, Youth Offender workers while others have decided to pursue further study in Law, Social work, Biological Sciences, Sociology.
The Diploma in Criminology & Forensic Psychology is awarded by CMI and is nationally recognised by FETAC for a LEVEL 5 FETAC Component Award in Criminology. A FETAC Award is recognised under the NFQ. |
