This programme is designed for those who wish to make their
careers in management in the construction industry. Through
a combination of the active links of the programme team with
industry and the strong emphasis on project work throughout
the programme, this programme provides a sound general
education in the different aspects of this fi eld while remaining
close to the practical needs of those who wish to develop a
career in construction. The Work Experience module in the
third year of the programme allows the student to experience
at fi rst hand, the challenges and opportunities of working in
the industry. This qualifi cation has been accredited to the
Chartered Institute of Building and now gives full exemption
from the educational requirements of Corporate Membership.
Career Opportunities
This award is particularly suitable for those who wish to attain
positions in contracts management, project management or
general management of construction related activities. While
it is expected that most graduates will specialise in roles that
operate in the actual building phase of projects, the breath of
the programme allows graduates to develop a career across
all of the phases of the construction cycle.
Graduates from earlier programmes, from which this
programme has been developed, have found careers in large
and small companies and across a range of occupations in
both the public and private sectors. Many have attained a high
